What we collect, and why.

Short version: very little. No account, no newsletter, no cookies unless you say yes, and nothing sold or shared for advertising. Here is the full list.

When you ask to be told about a book

If you leave your email on a book that isn't out yet, we keep that address and the name of the book. We use it for one thing: emailing you when that book is released. You aren't added to a newsletter, and the address isn't shared with anyone. The form is handled by Netlify, which hosts this site.

When you buy a book

Checkout is run by Polar, who take the payment and email you the download. Polar collects what it needs to do that, such as your name, email and payment details. We never see your card details. Polar shares your email address and what you bought with us so we can help if anything goes wrong with your order.

When you email us

If you write to hello@zeroaudiencelife.com, we keep the conversation so we can reply. We don't use it for anything else.

Just visiting

Like any website host, Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google for them, and Google sees your IP address when it does.

Analytics and cookies

To understand which pages are useful, we use PostHog, an analytics service based in the US. It records which pages you visit, what you click, where you arrived from, and your browser and device type. It doesn't record your screen or anything you type, and we don't use it to identify you. The first time you visit, you're asked whether we can use cookies for this.

If you accept, PostHog stores a small cookie and an entry in your browser's storage so it can recognise you as the same visitor next time, and it uses your IP address to estimate your country.

If you reject, or haven't chosen yet, nothing is stored on your device. PostHog turns your IP address into an anonymous code that changes every day, then discards the IP address, so it can't follow you from one day to the next or tell where you are.

Your browser remembers which you chose so it doesn't ask again. To change your mind, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

Removing your details

Email hello@zeroaudiencelife.com and ask. We'll delete what we hold about you, or tell you what that is if you'd like to see it first. For anything held by Polar as part of a purchase, we'll pass the request on, or you can contact them directly.
